HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIANSHIP Cottage School of Music offers an Aural Extension Course for students in Years 9 to 12; the course is primarily aimed at students preparing for Tertiary entry auditions and TEE music. This programme is different in focus to the Junior and Senior Musicianship Programmes, in that it is directed at students undertaking formal written examinations. Through this programme students are able to devise strategies for examinations - these strategies allow students to see their improvement over the short and long term. This High School course focuses on the development of the aural perception skills relevant to their school music syllabus, with particular emphasis on the TEE syllabus. Students also use the course to prepare for Tertiary entrance examinations and for other examination bodies which include an aural component. Areas covered include pitch and rhythm development, theory, reading, writing, memory development, part-thinking, inner hearing, harmony and dictation. |

This exceptional programme offers classes to children aged 5-16, and provides expert vocal training suited to children's voices.
